Here's one you may not have heard of...

Medicis Pharmaceutical Corporation has already hit the jackpot with the FDA approval of its Botox competitor, Dysport, earlier this year (see this release from April). Now it looks like Medicis could very well continue its development of cosmetic products with a pending FDA nod for its fat "melting" device Liposonix.
Liposonix allegedly uses ultrasound to heat up and destroy fat deposits without penetrating the skin. If it works, this would be an extremely attractive and profitable option to all sorts of people with an interest in cosmetics. Not only is it less invasive than liposuction, but also it is no doubt cheaper with no extra bills for surgical facilities and the possibility to perform the procedure in an outpatient setting. You might want to keep an eye on Medicis to see how they will do over the next year as they are hoping for an FDA approval for Liposonix in 2011. In the meantime don't expect Dysport to eat away at Botox's market share for some time, so I wouldn't take the bait on Medicis quite yet.
